A new lease of life for MAJAL-FNAU cooperation

MAJAL participates in the 37th meeting of Urban Planning Agencies in France
Following an invitation from the National Federation of Urban Agencies in France, a delegation representing the National Federation of Urban Agencies in Morocco (MAJAL) and the Ministry of Urbanism and Territory Plan took part in the Meeting of the Urban Agencies in France held from 5 to 7 October 2016 in Bayonne, Anglet and Biarritz.

This meeting took place from 5 to 7 October 2016 on the theme "Territories no limitations". The debates that took place on this occasion were aimed at identifying the needs and the solutions enabling the Urban Agencies to accompany the State and the local authorities in the new territorial organization set up by the "NOTRe" law. Agencies have an important role to play in this regard; As tools for knowledge and observation of territories and also for public decision-making and innovation, they must explore the partnership building of the new large territories resulting from this organization..

This meeting was crowned by the adoption of the manifesto of Bayonne which marks the will of the agencies to renew their interventions taking into account the territorial and societal evolutions. The manifesto commits them to: Meeting of exchange and sharing between MAJAL-FNAU

In order to boost the cooperation between MAJAL and FNAU, which have been linked by a partnership agreement since 2007, exchanges took place between the two sides on the margins of the meeting and made it possible to explore new issues of cooperation. In this context, it was agreed at the meeting held on 4 October in Bayonne to associate MAJAL with the initiative launched by the FNAU, in the framework of the “Habitat III” panned in Quito on 17 October 2016, In network of the Urban Agencies in the world. It was also decided to draw up a plan of action and implementation of the axes of cooperation agreed in 2007 within the framework of a new partnership agreement to be signed at the next meeting of the Urban Agencies in Morocco.

  • offer a collaborative and shared territorial action based on their partnership ADN
  • be spearheads to accompany transitions
  • contribute to the emergence of a "right to territory" for all
  • Build "planning agencies of tomorrow" in new forms
